I am the author of the book The Good Way, Walking an Old Road to a New Life. It tells the story of my journey on the Camino de Santiago, which I walked in 2014. I also have published a contemplative journal called the Ascent to Santiago, which is designed to be a helpful companion on your journey on the Camino.

When not walking the Camino, I serve as a Staff Spiritual Director at the Center for Spiritual Renewal, in La Mirada, CA,  and an Adjunct Professor at Biola University. I am also the President of Rooted Soul Ministries, an organization which seeks to create spaces where people can encounter God and learn to walk in freedom.

Previously, I served for 21 years as a pastor in a large church. I have a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Journalism from California State University, Long Beach and two master’s degrees from Biola University; a Master of Arts in Organizational Leadership, and a Master of Arts in Spiritual Formation and Soul Care. I have been married to my wife for 32 years and we have two children.

I have spoken to groups about the Camino, and have coached others as they have prepared to walk. I am available to meet with groups and organizations to share my story or to give insight into planning and preparing to  walk the Camino de Santiago.  I have also spoken on issues of forgiveness, relationships and how we are shaped and formed spiritually.
